Watch Dogs For PC, Xbox, PS Gets Release Date And New Story Trailer

Watch Dogs For PC, Xbox, PS Gets Release Date And New Story Trailer [VIDEO]

With the imminent release of Titanfall, it’s rather easy to forget that, in actual fact, there are some other pretty big titles hitting the gaming world in 2014. With two brand new consoles on the scene in the form of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, developers and publishers are doing their utmost to prepare us for some marquee releases, and Watch Dogs, which has just become available to pre-order, will hit shelves on May 27th. Further details, as well as the official trailer accompanying the announcement, can be seen below.
A short while ago, the trailer leaked out into the wild, in turn revealing the release date, and whether this was an intentional stunt pulled by Ubisoft or not, the title’s official Twitter page has since stepped out with the confirmation.

So, fans looking to get hold of Watch Dogs can now mark May 27th, 2014 down in their diaries. At almost twelve weeks away, it’s quite a lengthy wait, but with the aforementioned introduction of Titanfall and one or two other games expected to arrive before then, gamers have plenty to keep themselves occupied in the meantime.
The trailer itself is just over two minutes long, and although, as to be expected at this stage, it doesn’t offer much of an insight as to the gameplay, it does attempt to set the scene by introducing snippets of the plot and main characters.
Watch_Dogs release date
For the benefit of the uninitiated, Watch Dogs follows a similar theme to the likes of Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row, drafting in elements of gang culture, brushes with the law, and other such niceties. As you’d expect, there’ll be plenty of weaponry, vehicles – the whole kaboodle – and judging by the trailer, which is embedded below, we’re going to be in for an enthralling ride.

The Ubisoft title will release for the PlayStation 3 / 4, Xbox 360 / One, as well as Windows PC on May 27th. In a bit of a turn up for the books, Watch Dogs will also be available to those on Nintendo’s oft-overlooked Wii U console, although it will be subject to delay, instead dropping later on in June.
Here’s the official trailer, and we’ll keep you guys updated on any further tidbits related to the game:

Microsoft Planning To Bring Xbox 360 Emulation To Xbox One

Microsoft Planning To Bring Xbox 360 Emulation To Xbox One

The Microsoft Xbox One, which released towards the latter stages of last year, already boasts a sizeable catalog titles. But while those rocking the old Xbox 360 cannot enjoy the cutting-edge graphics offered by the latest machine, the range of games is much broader, and naturally, many gaming fans have appealed for Microsoft to introduce backwards compatibility with those old 360 games. Apparently, partner development lead Frank Savage suggested at last week’s BUILD that the idea of an Xbox 360 emulator is not out of the question, although it remains unclear as to if, when or how such a feature would be achieved.

To an outsider, it may seem like a very straightforward concept that a newer, more powerful system should run older games without too much issue. But in reality, there are several kinks that would need to be worked out before an emulator could be implemented, namely the fact that the Xbox one runs on X86 architecture whilst its predecessor runs PowerPC. Bridging the gap would be both time-consuming and tedious, and even though purists would love to see backwards compatibility, it remains to be known whether the software maker sees any value in it.

On the topic, Savage didn’t rule anything out, tentatively suggesting that plans were at discussion stage. “We’re not done thinking them through yet, unfortunately,” he said, going on to note that “it turns out to be hard to emulate the PowerPC stuff on the X86 stuff” and that while “there’s nothing to announce,” he would “love” to see it happen.
This likely echoes the sentiments of thousands of gamers, stuck with stacks of titles but forced to maintain two consoles in order to play both old and new. The Xbox 360 has no problem playing most old Xbox games, but given the key technological alterations this time around, getting the Xbox One to play nicely with Xbox 360 games will be a great deal tougher.
Xbox One 360 comparison
Given the furore surrounding certain used games polices in the run-up to the Xbox One’s release, it’s clear that the Redmond company isn’t thrilled by the idea of facilitating these kinds of features. With that said,`we also saw during the months leading up to the launch that the voice of the masses is one to be listened and adhered to, and if Microsoft begins to notice the demand, then nothing can be ruled out at this stage.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 For Xbox One, 360 Released [Download Link]

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 For Xbox One, 360 Released [Download Link]

It’s been a couple of weeks since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game first appeared on mobile devices after hitting the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android users respectively, and now, the full-on Spider-Man experience has arrived for Xbox. As announced by Larry Hryb, better known to most as Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson, the title is now on sale for the Xbox 360 as well as Microsoft’s all-new Xbox One, and if you’ve been waiting patiently to play this action-packed, movie-based epic, you can finally now get your fill.
The movie, like the accompanying mobile game, was released a couple of weeks back internationally, and while the Xbox One and Xbox 360 version is loosely based upon the 2nd film, it’s also different enough to keep things interesting and engaging. After all, if you’ve caught the movie already, you mightn’t want to revisit the same storyline all over again, so Spider-Man’s battle to defend New York City against a new-found threat should keep game-loving Spider-Man fans duly entertained.

The usual array of villains are present, and although we haven’t had a chance to play this for ourselves, we’ll definitely be giving it a swing later on.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 can be picked up from the Xbox Game Store, with pricing and availability varying dependent upon region.

If you’re a gamer but don’t happen to own a Microsoft-made console then do not despair, for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 is also arriving to those on the Sony PlayStation 3 / PlayStation 4, Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS, as well as, of course, Microsoft Windows.

Even though the movie has been on show for the past couple of weeks across the globe, it doesn’t hit the United States until later on this week, so Stateside Spider-Man fans could use this release for Xbox as a bit of a teaser before box offices begin showing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from May 2nd.

The Spider-Man games of the past have been somewhat underwhelming, but judging by the trailer, Activision looks to have have gotten its act together and produced something worthy of such a popular series.

Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare Trailer, Release Date Official, Watch It Here

Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare Trailer, Release Date Official, Watch It Here

The Call of Duty franchise has been running strong for the past few years, and although some gamers have expressed angst at the continual re-hash of a theme that doesn’t appear to change much year-in, year-out, the sales figures suggest that Activsion’s flagship first-person shooter is still immensely popular to this day. The first trailer for 2014’s installment – Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – has just been released, and features Hollywood veteran Kevin Spacey. Check it out after the break!
Almost every year since its inception, Call of Duty has played a game of its own – smashing previous sales records with each new release, however last year, this was brought to an abrupt halt by the monumental success of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5, which surpassed anything the video gaming industry has ever seen.
Cod Advanced Warfare
But despite some big titles in the offing for release later on this year, there’s definitely scope for CoD to reclaim its spot at the summit, and even though this Advanced Warfare trailer is purely cinematic, the inclusion of an animated Spacey will no doubt help the title gain some additional coverage among movie buffs. Apparently, the actor will play an integral role in proceedings, heading a military group launching attacks on the United States.
The trailer wasn’t supposed to be seen by the general public until Sunday, but thanks to a leak, Activision decided to throw it out on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel.
CoD Kevin Spacey
The footage was captured on the Xbox One, although given how the PlayStation 4 is of a similar specification, the clip offers a fairly accurate impression what the experience might be like on the Sony console. As well as the two major new gaming machines, the fourth and final installment to the Modern Warfare series is expected to release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Microsoft Windows.
As for the game’s arrival to market, it’s slated for release on November 4th, provided no unforeseen delays occur in the build-up.
Anyhow, whether you’re looking forward to the launch or simply curious as to what’s in store for this year’s edition of Call of Duty, be sure to check out the feature-length trailer, which we’ve embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

Xbox One To Get Backwards Compatibility For Xbox 360 Games In Future Software Update

Xbox One To Get Backwards Compatibility For Xbox 360 Games In Future Software Update

When the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 emerged all those years ago, it was always assumed that both would offer backwards compatibility with the titles of their respective predecessors, but in the run-up to the current-gen machines – particularly Microsoft’s Xbox One – it quickly became apparent that things wouldn’t be so clear-cut. Since the Xbox maker’s latest entertainment machine landed late last year, gamers have been in limbo with regards to eventual support for Xbox 360 titles, and now some encouraging news has been revealed to suggest that this may, in future, become a possibility, which follows on forward from an earlier report that suggested the same thing.
Moreover, it seems that Microsoft could offer backwards support by means of a software update. But while it’s something that the Windows maker appears to have on standby, those hoping for said update to arrive soon are probably going to be left disappointed for the time being.
Xbox controller side shot
With some new Halo titles on the way for the Xbox One, offering backwards compatibility would make very little sense so soon in the new console’s life, and while it may be something that occurs one, two, or maybe even three years down the line, it’s very unlikely to happen imminently.
This means, for now, folks wanting to play Xbox 360 games will have to keep two boxes beneath their TV sets. This is a bit of an inconvenience, of course, but you can hardly blame Microsoft for keeping this feature under lock and key – especially given the early deficit in sales versus Sony’s PlayStation 4.
Back at the BUILD developers event, it emerged that Microsoft was considering backwards compatibility, and Xbox head Phil Spencer has once again echoed these sentiments. But with the big E3 gaming expo now well and truly on the horizon, it seems far-fetched that any announcements will be made in this regard beyond a few more murmurings, and instead, we’re better to focus our attentions on what Microsoft may or may not unveil.

Thanks to a significant leak back in May, most of Sony’s big surprises appear to have already been divulged, but for Microsoft and the Xbox One, we’re certainly eager to learn of what’s in store.
The event kicks off next week on Tuesday, June 10th, and we’ll have feature-length coverage on all of the major announcements, so stay tuned!

Sign-Up And Download Battlefield Hardline Beta For PC, PS4 Right Now, Here’s How!

Sign-Up And Download Battlefield Hardline Beta For PC, PS4 Right Now, Here’s How!

With E3 commencing today, it’s all about the games, and with Microsoft having spilled the details on a bunch of eagerly-anticipated titles including Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Halo 5, it’s almost Sony’s turn to take center stage and unleash some announcements of its own. If you’re a PlayStation fan and have been eagerly awaiting news, you’ll be pleased to learn that Battlefield Hardline has just arrived as a beta to the PlayStation Store, and with a simultaneous beta also rolling out for PC, fans of the immensely-popular franchise will be able to aid the process of creating yet another great installment.
First-person shooters, as a format, tend to be the most popular, and given the continued success of the CoD series, the recently-released Titanfall and many others like them, it’s no surprise to see the developers and publishers continually churning out releases on a regular basis.
BF Hardline
Battlefield has long since pushed the boundaries in terms of both graphics and game play, and now, Battlefield Hardline will look to entice the shoot-‘em-up-loving faithful with this public beta. The title doesn’t launch in full until October 21st, so don’t go expecting anything like finished article, but rather a flavor of the kind of thing you can expect when playing the complete, retail edition later on in the year.
If you’re on PS4, you can pick up the beta through the PlayStation Store, provided you’re in the ownership of Battlefield 4. Those on PC can sign up for the beta over at EA’s website, but you’ll need to get in quickly as places are limited and EA is operating a first come, first serve system. Simply point your browser to: battlefield.com/hardline/beta to sign-up right away. Once you’re in, you will be notified via email when the beta is ready for download.
Keep in mind though, the closed beta for Battlefield Hardline is not available for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
BF Hardline beta sign up
As well as PC and PS4, Battlefield Hardline will be coming to the Xbox One, and EA also took the opportunity to today confirm that it will also be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Even though it’s been only eight months since the two new consoles arrived last holiday, there’s that real fear among gamers that developers will begin to overlook the older machines for the pivotal, new games such as this, but fortunately, for now, it’s still early enough in the day for EA to deem Xbox 360 / PS3 support a worthwhile pursuit.
As aforementioned, Battlefield Hardline will make its way to market on October 21st, and as ever, we’ll endeavor to bring you any updates on its progress as and when it becomes available.
